What makes Figo Pet different from other pet insurers?

Figo Pet offers one flexible base policy that you put together yourself. You choose a reimbursement percentage of 50%, 70% or 90%, a maximum annual reimbursement of € 3.000, € 6.000 or unlimited, and a voluntary own risk of € 0, € 100, € 250 or € 500.

You can insure your puppy or kitten from just 7 weeks old. There is no maximum age limit.
A standard waiting period of 30 days applies. Veterinary costs for an illness or condition that arises within this period are not covered. Exceptions include microchipping and preventive care.

The base policy covers, among other things:

  • Consultations with a vet & specialist (as many as needed)
  • Diagnostics (X-rays, blood tests, CT/MRI)
  • Operations & anaesthesia
  • Medication (in line with regulations)
  • Medically necessary neutering/spaying from 4 years of age
  • Euthanasia & cremation
  • Physiotherapy (€ 500 per year)
  • Alternative therapies (acupuncture, osteopathy, homeopathy, behavioural therapy)
  • Dental care after accidents
  • Prevention budget (€ 75 per year) + SOS budget (€ 300 per year)

With this extra module you receive reimbursement of up to € 500 per policy year for dental check-ups, cleaning, extractions, root canal treatments and dental X-rays

The additional travel cover reimburses unexpected veterinary costs abroad up to a maximum of € 1.000 per year, as long as the treatment cannot wait until you return to the Netherlands.
  • One waiting period per new condition or illness (30 days).
  • Pre-existing and hereditary conditions are excluded.
  • Cosmetic, preventive and reproductive costs (such as contraceptive treatments) are not covered, unless you have taken out specific additional cover
  • Dental care after accidents is included as standard, but for routine treatment you need the additional module

You can claim easily online through your Figo Pet account. Upload a scan or photo of the invoice (including the microchip number). Invoices above € 750 are given priority and are often processed within 10 working days.

Yes, provided they are carried out by accredited professionals and on referral from your vet. Cover includes homeopathy, acupuncture, osteopathy, chiropractic, orthomanual therapy and behavioural therapy (max. € 300 per year for behavioural therapy).

Yes, after the first year they can cancel the policy in the event of:

  • Excessive numbers of claims or very high claims;

  • Deliberate deception;

  • Non-payment of premium or failure to comply with the terms

  • Death: report within 30 days with a statement from the vet.
  • Missing pet (>30 days): notification is mandatory.
  • Change of address: report within 30 days.
  • Transfer to a new owner: only with permission from Figo Pet
